The crater at the summit of the mountain is around 300m across, with a circumference of 1000m and a depth of 70m. From Mt. Fuji to the Southern Japanese Alps, Izu Islands and the Boso Peninsula, walking the length of the circumference, otherwise known as taking a “crater tour”, offers an unmissable 360° panoramic view of the surrounding scenery.
Wait for the lift at the yellow and red feet markers. Those who are unsure about how to get on or off the lift, please stand on the red markers. If necessary, inform a staff member that you are uncertain or need assistance, and they will help you get on and off the lift.
Those travelling with small children, for safety, please pick up your child before getting on and off the lift.
When the lift arrives, take care when sitting down, and hold both your feet off the ground.
Pull the safety bar down from above your head.
Mind your belongings whilst riding the lift. Please refrain from shaking the lift or jumping off the lift whilst it is in transit.
No smoking is permitted on the lift.
When the staff instruct you to do so, lift the safety bar, slide forward in your seat and prepare to disembark.
Once you have gotten off the lift at the yellow feet markers, please do not stop walking, and keep moving forward to the left.
